Sphinxian (SQL) Designworks
(Also accessible by sqloracle.com)

Welcome to the Sphinxian Designworks website. Despite the name, this is not a commercial site at this time -- it is merely a tutorial site to offer suggestions for the developer who wants to learn more about using the SQL language to run queries and create databases. Although I have spent years designing databases using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, my prefered database is Oracle and this site will probably eventually focus more on Oracle's PL/SQL than Microsoft's MS/SQL (though currently the opposite is true.) The differences between the languages are subtle, though, so this site should be helpful if you are using either of these platforms.

This site addresses kind of a niche audience, but, hey, I'm a geek. I'm also a serious procrastinator (check out "About Sphinxian" to see what I mean), so all I have to offer at this time are some tutorial manuals I wrote to train my coworkers to write SQL Server queries. Eventually I plan to have an actual database on this website and a SQL "grammar" checker (so users can type in their queries and get feedback on where their syntax is wrong.) But my day job and other hobbies keep me pretty busy, so this may be a pipe dream.

In the meantime, feel free to download the SQL Server training manuals and contact me if you have any questions.
